Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz agrees with Mario Gotze about Julian Brandt as Arsenal consider January transfer.
A number of players have been on Arsenal list for ideal creative midfielders. Mikel Arteta has been keen to sign an attacking midfielder since last summer. But the Spaniard is yet to lure in an ideal recruit. After eyeing Houssem Aouar and Philippe Coutinho in the summer window. Arteta is making a fresh list of players with a better chance of arrival.
There have been reports of Arteta’s keenness to sign Isco from Real Madrid. In addition to the long-term attention on Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia. Arsenal has also kept close tabs on Carlos Soler of Valencia. But Borussia Dortmund player Julian Brandt is the latest addition to the Spanish manager’s list.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ace is having a tough period playing for BVB. Brandt made the signing for Borussia hoping to play at the next level of football. However, the youngster is yet to crack into the Dortmund lineup. Julian Brandt is usually seen as a bench-warmer for the German side. Brandt is unable to play at BVB with the same passion he had at Leverkusen. It may be because Borussia are not using him right.
However, Arsenal hopes to lure him to England and try to resolve the lack of creativity in the center. Arsenal are keen to sign him on a permanent deal but Metro reports that Borussia may leave him on a loan deal instead. This may be beneficial for Arsenal as well, as they lack huge transfer funds at the moment. Edu may try to include a clause to buy the player at the end of the loan should Arsenal find the player worth their money.
Havertz is encouraging the arrival of Brandt

Kai Havertz and Julian Brandt are former team-mates at Bayer Leverkusen
Though Brandt might be coming to England to play for a rival club. Kai Havertz is feeling optimistic thinking about reuniting with his buddy. Brandt is ‘the best player’ at Borussia, according to Havertz, and has been a close friend of him as well. Arsenal will hope Brandt plays at his best too should they sign him this transfer window. The 24-year-old is also keen to make a jump to north London. But Borussia remains adamant about not cashing him in this window.
Brandt has made a total of 22 apps for Borussia Dortmund. But he is mostly seen as a bench-warmer for the German outfit. He also often has to play at an undesired position. Despite Brandt’s current lack of form, Borussia believes the youngster will rise in the future. Hence, they are not too keen to sell him anytime soon. But Julian is keen to get more time on the pitch. Hence he favors a move to Arsenal, expecting more game-time and the chance to play in his favored role.
Arsenal will have to look into his pricetag however to jump to conclusions. Borussia Dortmund has always been tough negotiators keeping their prices high. Arsenal may not be comfortable splashing away as much money as they want. But if the player also insists on leaving, Borussia will have to lower their bars. Arsenal has until the end of the window to finalize a move. Mikel Arteta is keen to sign an attacking midfielder this window and will look to seal one soon.
Arsenal are desperate for a creative mindset

The North Londoners have had a goal drought for a major part of the season. With the club going seven games without a win and the main reason being the lack of creativity in the middle. Mikel Arteta was hoping to sign a playmaker in the previous window. But had to settle with the signings of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes.
‘A lot of things that should have happened in the summer we could not accomplish them for different reasons,’ -Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal did try placing multiple bids for Houssem Aouar. But Lyon was not too keen to let go of their midfield ace and rejected Arsenal’s bid. With the Frenchman unavailable, Arteta is now eyeing other options that can fit the Gunners’ budget. Isco, Carlos Soler, and Joan Jordan are among the top names on Arsenal’s list. Edu is working hard to provide Arteta with a creative playmaker after seeing the difference Emile Smith Rowe made to Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta has made a promise to his fans reassuring them major changes will take place soon. The Spaniard wants to reinforce his squad with fresh talent. But he wants to cut down some of the deadweights first. Arteta is hoping to use this window to make the necessary changes and secure better results for the second half of the season.
