Tottenham Hotspur had a plain sail on Monday as they swamped Burnley on Monday at Turf Moor. The highlights of the game include the combination of Tottenham Hotspur stars Harry Kane and Son Heung Min. Both combined so well to play against Burnley that they are closing in on record set by Chelsea superstars Drogba and Lampard.
Harry Kane and Son Heung Min is rapidly moving towards the current record of 36 goals in the Premier League held by the Chelsea duo. Even though the opponents have figured the tactic to keep Kane and Heung Min quiet till 76the minute.
But even after getting a rare chance to combine in an open field. Within 14 minutes left to the final whistle, Kane perfectly played his role and made a setup while his attacking partner Son takes advantage and direct his shot towards the net.
Hence Jose Mourinho’s side was able to win with a 1-0 away from home against Burnley. Who in turn lost their fourth game of the current season.
The goal from Son not only marked the victory for Tottenham but also highlighted the understanding between Kane and Son. The duo has given nine goals together within six premier league outings for the 2020/21 campaign.
The duo has made around 29 Premier League goals together. Their understanding has been remarkable and the tally of their combined goals says this. Kane has assisted Son in his seven goals and has so far provided as many assists as created in the previous three seasons.
The Kane and Heung min show is ready to take over the legends
The South Korean international is only three points behind Harry Kane tally for the last campaign. The pair tally in England’s top flight has brought them to the level of the feat achieved by David Silva and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City as well as the duo of Thierry Henry and Robert Pires of Arsenal.
Thus it makes them sit behind Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard in the history of the competition. While another Spurs duo Darren Anderton and Teddy Sheringham occupied the bottom position in the rating of best partnership in Premier League history. They combined for 27 goals in total during their time with Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal’s duo can be credited as being an important part of the Gunners’ most successful English division era. Before making a switch to Barcelona, Henry won four Golden Boots. But his partnership with his Pries was the best where he scored 19 goals and finding the net 12 times.
But not a single combination could overhaul the record of 36 goals set by Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. They enjoyed the best of times at Chelsea where Lampard assisted Drogba 24 times while the latter in turn assisted him on 12 occasions.
Looking towards the current performance of Kane and Son it seems that the duo is at the course of leaving behind the record set by Chelsea’s legends. At this rate, the duo would match their tally at the end of this campaign.
For now, Tottenham stands fifth with eleven points in the premier league table. The club will be seen in action as they travel to Belgium for their Europa leagues showdown against Royal Antwerp.
