The German wants Madrid to continue making history.
Real Madrid are clearly struggling in La Liga and are not favourites to win the Champions League. With players on treatment table and the playing XI constantly changing it seems it will be tough for the Los Blancos to finish in the top 3 in the La Liga. Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has it’s say on Gareth Bale and Real Madrid’s club World Cup.
Toni Kroos was assured as ever as Real Madrid booked their place in the Club World Cup final with a 3-1 win over Kashima Antlers on Wednesday. The German midfielder spoke to the press shortly after the game, giving his thoughts on various talking points from the match. Kroos started by singling out star man on the night, Gareth Bale, who netted a hat-trick.“He deserves it, he made a real effort.
He wasn’t 100 per cent but he still played a great match.” he said. Los Blancos now face Al Ain in Saturday’s final. The 28-year-old admitted that he was not too sure of what awaits his side from the surprise outfit. He said, “I do not know (what to expect). To be honest I did not watch their semifinal but we will study the opponent and it will certainly be difficult. We have to treat it like it was a LaLiga or Champions League game.”
About Madrid’s nervy start, Kroos said, “We did not begin well but when you do not know much about the opposition it can happen. But I think we improved a lot and deserved the victory”. On the tournament itself, the pass master said, “We treat it like the Champions League. It motivates us greatly. We want to continue making history, that’s our objective”.
Author’s take:
Real Madrid and Toni Kroos are feeling confident. They erased all doubts over the fact that they may not win the club World Cup this year. It seems their domestic form isn’t affecting them here. A win in the final and a trophy would be a perfect way for Real Madrid to end the first half of their disastrous season.
