Sergio Ramos, the Madrid captain, said that Real Madrid will welcome Mbappe with open arms.

The French sensation, Kylian Mbappe is the latest French youngster to be dubbed “the new Thierry Henry”. He is already on the radar of several European Giants despite his tender age of 18. He has scored 19 goals and assisted 11 for Monaco this season. Madrid’s transfer ban ended in the winter which means they can buy players in the transfer market this summer. They are looking to buff up their forward line. One of their targets has already reportedly ruled out a move to Los Merengues.

Florentino Perez is up for re-election in 2019. He would like to strengthen his claim on the Presidential role with a blockbuster signing. No doubt, signing a much sought after teenage sensation and a superstar of the future would fit the bill.

Kylian Mbappe: Europe’s latest teenage sensation

Mbappe started his senior career with Monaco B in the 2015-2016 season. He has represented France at under-17, under-19 and senior level. Mbappe can play across the frontline. He is most often deployed as a supporting striker by Leonardo Jardim in his preferred 4-4-2 formation. He is a good finisher at such a young age. 2016-2017 has been his breakout season and is part of the free-scoring Monaco side. As a result of his age and his talent, he is incredibly sought after in the transfer market. He made his debut for France during the latest international break and almost scored his first goal.

Sergio Ramos’ comments

Sergio Ramos said, “I do not call the president [Florentino Perez] to consult me about signings, but the gates of Real Madrid are open for best players.” Ramos made these comments before the friendly between France and Spain on Tuesday. He further added “If you come to Madrid Mbappe, we will welcome you with all affection as we always do with the new players who arrive. But right now it’s a lack of respect for those in te squad to get us talking about others who are not from the club.”

These comments clearly show Madrid’s interest in Mbappe. He is a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan and that might work in the favour of the Spanish club. If the moment arises, then the chance to play with his idol is not something that Mbappe would pass up.
