Russell Westbrook had one of the worst shooting performances of his career during the Thunder’s loss to the Clippers at home, but teammate LeBron James is standing up for him. The Los Angeles Lakers’ first home game was against the Los Angeles Clippers, and despite the fact that both LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored 20 points, the Lakers were unable to hold off the Clippers.
The purple and gold team had one of the worst shooting performances in their whole history, going 9 for 45 from the field. It would appear that the Lakers have not learnt from their previous errors, whether it is the fact that Russell Westbrook is an oddity or the fact that their bench does not have enough depth. Even so, Brodie continues to be the most obvious source of unhappiness, as his recent shooting performance against the Clippers showed.
The former Most Valuable Player had a performance in which he scored only two points on free throws and went 0 for 11 from the field. The Lakers Nation yelled “no” whenever Westbrook tried a jump shot from beyond the three-point line.
Fortunately for Westbrook, LeBron James was there to support him and didn’t pick up on anything strange about the shooting show put on by the former Oklahoma City Thunder player.

It should not have come as a surprise that Westbrook provoked the ire of the audience, but the fact that he did so with the King by his side was quite fortunate. James’ assertion that Westbrook did an outstanding job on the defensive end of the court is supported by the fact that he had five steals. Westbrook is a two-time scoring champion.
Another noteworthy observation that may be made is that for the entirety of the game, he only committed one turnover. Will we see Russell Westbrook come off the bench at some point?
The answer to this question is still a closely guarded secret. However, contrary to what many people believed would be the case, the nine-time All-Star will begin this season on the active roster rather than the bench.
Westbrook ended up hamstringing himself during the exhibition game versus the Kings, despite the fact that he came off the bench during the game. As a result, he was forced to leave the game.
The Lakers need to make a decision on this scenario as soon as possible because their chances of making the playoffs appear to be slim in the midst of a strong Western Conference field.
