Javier Tebas has said that Mourinho returning to the Spanish top tier would be a “great spectacle”
Tebas has revealed that the ex-Real Madrid manager, sacked by Manchester United last month after a spate of poor results and losing the dressing room, would be received back to Spanish football with open arms. During his previous tenure in the La Liga, Mourinho had succeeded in ending Barcelona’s three-year dominance of the league under Pep Guardiola by taking Los Blancos to the title in 2011-12, which has ensured that he is fondly remembered at the Bernabeu.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has also apparently been trying to get Mourinho to come back to the capital club, despite already getting Santiago Solari on bard as the head coach until 2021. “It would not be a bad thing for La Liga,” Tebas told Catalan radio station RAC1, when queried about Mourinho’s potential return to Spain. “He is a fantastic coach who has many qualities and it would be a great spectacle, it would be fantastic to have him here, but who knows what club would it be.”
Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has also been talked up as returning to the La Liga at either former club Barcelona or Real Madrid. “Neymar returning to Spain? We want as many stars as possible of course and he is one of the global stars,” Tebas added. “But the important thing for us is to have a strong brand, like England’s Premier League, and they have not had Ballon d’Or winners in many years.”

Jose Mourinho would do well to take a break from football management and sort out his issues and whether he needs to change his management to suit the way modern football is played. But don’t bank on his ego taking over and him returning to an elite club like Madrid just to prove that he is still very much the ‘Special One’.
