Barcelona will face Celta Vigo on matchday 17, in a fixture where the Catalans have always found it difficult to get all three points. Will it change this time?
The league leaders are flying in La Liga right now with 11 goals scored in the last three games and none conceded. But their next opponents, Celta Vigo, have always found a way to frustrate the Spanish giants. Last season, both teams played out two 2-2 draws in the league. The Célticos have also recorded famous 4-3 and 4-1 victories in the past. What will be the result this time around? Here is everything you need to know before the kick-off:
When and where to watch the game:
Barcelona will host Celta Vigo at the Camp Nou on Saturday, 22nd December at 11 PM IST. Indian viewers can watch the game on La Liga’s official Facebook page.

It might be the result of Ballon d’Or, it might be Pele’s comments or it might just be himself, but Messi is in some serious form right now. The Argentine has bagged 7 goals and 5 assists in the last 5 league games. In Barca’s last game against Levante, he was involved in all five goals. Messi’s current form will be a big worry for Celta but they also have to keep Luis Suarez’s form in mind as the Uruguayan has scored 11 league goals.
If Barcelona have Messi – Suarez, Celta have their own attacking options in the form of Iago Aspas and Maxi Gomez. The duo has scored 18 goals in the league and will look to continue that at the Camp Nou. Celta currently sit 9th in the table with 21 points from 16 games. They could only manage a scoreless draw against Leganes in their last league game but it will hardly matter when they face Barcelona.
