The Legendary “Captain Cool” stepped down as Captain of the Indian Cricket Team.
“Mahi” as he was fondly known in his early years of cricket has one of the most prolific careers in the history of Indian cricket. M.S Dhoni forged his name in stone as one of the greatest captains of the Indian Cricket Team and led the team to multiple ICC trophies during his tenure. He is hailed as one of the best tacticians to ever grace the pitch and in the same breath, he is also considered one of the most explosive batsmen the team can boast of.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his decision of stepping down as captain of the Indian cricket team in T20 and ODI competitions, having relinquished his captaincy to Virat Kohli in Test competitions earlier. His selfless decision was met with appreciation, gratitude and with massive respect from former teammates, legends of the game and the fans as well.
