The arrival of Philippe Coutinho in Barcelona has drawn a lot of attention from various corners of the footballing world. The former Liverpool star was a long-term target for the Catalan giants, who eventually managed to sign him in the winter transfer window for a fee of around £142m.

However, with his arrival at the Nou Camp, there is a new story that has emerged now which has been going around in the tabloids.

The report suggests that talisman Messi has asked Vidal to leave the club, with Barca looking to raise funds to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, at the end of the current campaign.

Aleix Vidal Barcelona

Aleix Vidal might be sent the packing in January

The player who signed for Barcelona back in 2015 from rivals Sevilla, never really settled in at the club and will now be sold anyways, as being suggested.

Diario Gol adds that due to this, the Argentine magician has asked him to leave the Spanish side and move on with his career.

Though the player has been called back to the squad in recent times, with claims that Ernesto Valverde has had a change of heart, it seems that the attacker does not believe that there is anything left for him at the club.

He feels that his manager will sell him this month and this is just to showcase his skills, prior to a sale just as they tried during Luis Enrique’s time in charge, yet failed.

Vidal might not be the only player to leave, with Rakitic, Turan and a few other stars, also expected to be sold.

Author’s Take-

If these rumours are true, it will be best for the player to move on and revive his career, rather than continue his struggle without no fruit. Every player has a certain life-span at a particular club and it seems, this players time at Barcelona is all but done.
