It has been confirmed now that Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have now confirmed the signing of their former player Mario Gotze from domestic rivals Bayern Munich. The move that has now been completed is said to be a four-year deal for a fee of €26m(£21.7m), just three seasons after the 24 year old World Cup winner left the Signal Iduna Park to join the champions of Germany.
The player who was one of Pep Guardiola’s first signings back in the summer of 2013 failed to impress at the Allianz Arena and was never a regular member of the squad.
It is certain that some of the Dortmund fans might not accept him immediately and Gotze added that he was ready to win them over soon with his efforts.
The high quality player was wanted by a host of clubs this summer including Premier League giant Arsenal and Liverpool, though he did not move to England. Instead he went back to his former team, who had sold a lot of players this summer.
With stars like Mats Hummels and mid-fielders Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan already leaving in the current transfer window, Dortmund are still trying their best to re-build their squad.
The German outfit have already signed a number of impressive stars like Ousmane Dembele, Sebastian Rode, Raphael Guerreiro, Marc Bartra, Emre Mor and Mikel Merino, apart from Gotze.
