Liverpool started this campaign on a good note before succumbing to Aston Villa by 2-7. After suffering humiliation, the defending champions switched gears and started playing a fearless brand of football. A couple of games ago, they were behind Tottenham Hotspur.
However, in the wake of a convincing victory against Spurs at Anfield put them on top of the points table. Having played 14 games, Liverpool topped the points table with 31 points. They secured 9 wins, played out 4 draws, and lost just once in this season.
They are 4 points above the second-placed Leicester City and 5 points above their Merseyside rivals Manchester United. Liverpool’s recent victory came against Crystal Palace. Klopp’s team traveled to Selhurst Park and secured a massive 7-0 win to extend their points in their campaign.
Roberto Firminho and Mohamed Salah netted a brace. Minamino, Sadio Mane, and Jordan Henderson scored a goal each as Liverpool secure their biggest-ever win at Selhurst Park.

Salah is the top goalscorer this season with as many as 13 goals. Meanwhile, there were reports and widespread speculations that the Egyptian international is unhappy at the club.
Liverpool coach has his say
Liverpool under-23s assistant coach addressed the reporters at the press conference where he responded to claims Salah is not happy at the club. While there were claims stating that Salah is unhappy at the club’s training ground, Gary O’Neil chipped in with his opinion.
The coach insists that he has not heard any negativity about the Egyptian international. Last week, Salah added that he was totally upset at not being given the skipper’s armband for the Champions League dead-rubber fixture against FC Midtjylland earlier this month.
Since then, there was hullabaloo that the Egyptian winger is unhappy at the club. The star footballer also opened up about the possibility of joining the European giants Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.
Salah is unhappy: Aboutrika
Meanwhile, Salah’s former international teammate Abourtrika had claimed Salah is indeed unhappy with his current situation at Liverpool. However, the club’s assistant coach reckons Salah doesn’t seem to be in a dark zone.
Gary O’Neil said Salah is sweating it out really hard in the training session. The footballer came out to play for around 30 minutes against Palace. Liverpool forward scored a brace in the second half and put his club in a comfortable position.
“I’m keen to judge it on performances and the guy that came on for half an hour against Crystal Palace doesn’t seem unhappy, for me,” O’Neil told talkSPORT. “What I’m hearing about how hard he works in training and how bubbly he is around the ground, I don’t see it being an issue,” he said.
Salah made 134 PL appearances for Liverpool where he netted 88 goals and assisted 32 times. Liverpool forward was involved in 96 victories with the club and has only lost 13 games at the club. He scored 11 goals with his right foot and 72 goals with his left foot.
