Liverpool are talking with Real Madrid over a potential transfer of James Rodriguez
Liverpool has a burning hole in their pocket because of all the money they received from Barcelona for Phillipe Coutinho. The Brazilian was Liverpool’s crowning jewel and now they are looking to replace him. After being linked with Dani Ceballos, Thomas Lemar among others, they now seem to have stumbled upon James Rodriguez.
The Colombian is on the books of Real Madrid but is loaned out to Bayern Munich for a period of two years. The Bavarian giants hold the right to buy James for a specified amount at the end of the two-year loan spell. Now Liverpool has held talks with Real regarding the 26-year-old. According to Don Balon, Klopp sees him as a perfect replacement for the recently departed Phillipe Coutinho.

James Rodriguez reveals his love for Real Madrid fans and how he sees his future pan out
Talking to El Chirnguito, James said, “I don’t know if Madrid miss me. I did my work well and with all my heart. I was always eager, and everyone could see that when I was doing things well, I could make a difference.”
“My departure was said and it was because it was my dream(to play for Real Madrid). But that’s how football is, it’s how it is. One year you are where you want to be, the next you’re not.”
James also talked about how he shared a special and warm relationship with the fans. “With the Real Madrid fans. there was a real bond between us and I think they loved me like I loved them too.”
“The fans always told me:’James stay’. I felt a lot of affection for them. I love the Madrid fans very much because they, like me, always want to win,” he added.
James Rodriguez was a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu
However, he did insist that he will be the one to decide where his future lies. He said, “For now, I’m only thinking about Bayern. No one knows what’ll happen in the future. My present is at Bayern and it depends exclusively on me if I’m going to leave.”
James has had an impressive season in Germany. The Colombian has racked up 3 goals and 5 assists in 20 appearances in all competitions.
Author’s Take
James’s performances in Germany stands in stark contrast to that of his former teammates. He has flourished with Bayern Munich while Real have floundered this season. His presence in Madrid would have helped the Spanish Champions a lot in their rough form.
Liverpool is the latest club to register their interest in James Rodriguez. The Colombian will have a tough decision on his hands. Choosing between these 3 high-profile clubs will be difficult.
