Leipzig could look to cash in for him during the January window as opposed to letting him leave on a Bosman deal at the end of the season. Apart from the Reds, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder.

The Austria international has been a consistent performer for the German club since joining from RB Salzburg in 2017. He has played 167 games in all competitions so far, registering 11 goals and 18 assists. Laimer helped the Leipzig outfit win one DFB-Pokal and was also included in the UEFA Europa League Team of the Season last term.
