Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer. The Reds have endured a difficult start to the season, managing to win just four of their opening 10 games in the league. They are currently seventh in the Premier League table, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.
Midfield has been one of the biggest areas of concern for Jurgen Klopp. Almost all of the Merseysiders’ senior midfielders have suffered injuries during the opening months of the campaign. The German manager could look to bring in reinforcements to his midfield during the upcoming transfer window.
Liverpool Reignites Interest In Konrad Laimer
According to Christian Falk, Liverpool have made fresh contact to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer.
The Reds tried to sign the Austria international during the final days of the summer window. But the German club rebuffed their approach as they didn’t want to sell him close to the deadline.

Laimer is currently in the final of his contract at Red Bull Arena. Leipzig could look to cash in for him during the January window as opposed to letting him leave on a Bosman deal at the end of the season. Apart from the Reds, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder.
The Austria international has been a consistent performer for the German club since joining from RB Salzburg in 2017. He has played 167 games in all competitions so far, registering 11 goals and 18 assists. Laimer helped the Leipzig outfit win one DFB-Pokal and was also included in the UEFA Europa League Team of the Season last term.
Darwin Nunez Sets Premier League Record
Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez broke the Premier League speed record during the Reds’ 1-0 victory against West Ham United on Thursday. He hit an outrageous top speed of 38km/h, overtaking Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, who clocked a 37.802 km/h against Chelsea in June 2020.
Nunez has finally started to find his feet at Anfield following his record-breaking move from Benfica during the summer window. He has scored two goals in six Premier League appearances for the Reds so far.

The Uruguay international has also found the back of the goal once in four UEFA Champions League outings so far. He will look to build on his newfound form during the upcoming games.
His performances also received praise from Kostas Tsimikas. He said (via Liverpool Echo): “Nunez can score with the left, with the right, with the head, he’s a goal machine. He needs confidence, it is coming and I hope for him he scores a lot more goals and gives us more wins, because for us he is a very, very important player. “
