Liverpool News: Jurgen Klopp Makes Admission Over the Reds Midfielder Transfer Plans

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp has cooled down the rumours about the Reds signing a new midfielder this transfer window.

The German manager is currently short of options in midfield as Thiago and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have suffered injuries in the last few weeks. They have shown interest in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham but the German club wants to sell the youngster in the next transfer window.

Several other midfielders were also linked with a move to Anfield recently but the rumours failed to gain any traction. Klopp prefers to wait for the perfect player rather than making a panic buy.

As things stand, the Merseysiders are likely to push for Bellingham next summer as opposed to signing a new midfielder this window.

Speaking to the media, Jurgen Klopp has cooled down rumours about Liverpool signing a new midfielder before deadline day. The German manager also provided an update on Naby Keita’s future, who was recently linked with a move away from Anfield.

He said: “New midfielder? If the right player is not available at this moment we tend to deal with what we have.

It would be cool to have a new midfielder in, of course. Naby Keita will not go but if he would – he won’t – there must be a replacement”.

The Reds have started the season slowly, failing to win any of their opening two league fixtures. They will look to find some rhythm when they lock horns against arch-rivals Manchester United on Tuesday.
