Mohammad Salah scored the winning penalty for Egypt in their Round of 16 matches against Ivory Coast. Both the teams ended in a 0-0 tie after 120 minutes. The match went on to the penalty shoot-out where Egypt won 5-4 to Ivory Coast.

Salah was seen calming his teammates before the shootout. Ivory Coast was the first to take their penalties. Nicolas Pepe took the first kick and scored. The only man to miss a penalty was Ivory Coast’s Eric Bailly, which gave Egypt an advantage. Salah came to take his kick when the score was 4-4, with Ivory Coast having completed their quota of penalties. Salah sent the keeper in the wrong direction and netted the final penalty, which won them the match.

Egypt will now face Morocco in the Quarter Finals of the AFCON. The team will be hoping that their star forward Mohammad Salah take them to victory and they qualify ahead in the tournament.
