Liverpool Get Update On The Signing Of £30m-Rated Goalkeeper

Liverpool were said to be closing in on signing £30m-rated Thomas Strakosha from Serie A outfit Lazio in the current transfer window, though the club has suggested that he will not be sold.

The Reds have been having issues at the back and are trying to bring in a new goalie, prior to the start of the new campaign.

With that being said, they were looking at the Albania international as a potential substitute for Alisson and Oblak, who were on top of their wish-list initially.

Klopp is desperate to fortify the team at the back and with that being said, he is looking to bring in a new goalie in the current transfer window, once the World Cup is over.

The German manager would have been disappointed at the way that his team lost the Champions League final and keeping that in mind, he is looking to first solve his major problem at the back.

If that is sorted out, he can go ahead with bringing more on-field players for various other positions and push for a league title win this time.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper could have been a long-term signing for the club, had the deal worked out between the two parties.

The offer to play for the Reds will be tempting, though if this deal is out of the picture, the Merseyside outfit will have to sign some other big name. Who that player could be, remains to be seen in the days to follow.

Author’s Take-

The quality of goalkeepers in the World Cup has also gone down quite a bit, it can be said. From the likes of De Gea, Neuer to Willy Caballero, there have been quite a few errors in the World Cup already too. This is now becoming a major issue and Liverpool has been suffering from this problem for quite some time. They have tried their best to solve it in the past, by signing Karius, who let them down when it mattered the most.

Keeping that in mind, they will once again push to sort things out and hopefully, it works out for them too. Which star they bring in next, the fate of the club in the upcoming seasons could totally depend on that.
