Michael Edwards sees his JustGiving page getting a big hit due to the kindness dropped by Nabil fekir’s agent.
The news has been revealed and a big thanks to the eagle eyed spying of some Reds fans and the news quickly spread across the internet.
Away from his Anfield day-job, Michael Edwards, Liverpool sporting director is running the London Marathon next month and has already raised over £16,000 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and Jean-Pierre Bernes Nabil fekir’s has dropped a cool £1,000 in there. It’s still a way off the £4,000 contribution that Liverpool guardian Jurgen Klopp gave the sporting director, but still the move has raised the pulses of some Reds fans.
Edwards has pulled in nearly £40,000, and if you want to contribute further you can do so by visiting his JustGiving page.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson made an undisclosed donation, but that too makes sense. Ian Ayre and Michael Beale other well-known names that have contributed on Edwards’ Just Giving page. You would surely expect a current Liverpool player to do something like that for a noble cause but the agent of one who saw their move fall through at the last minute in the previous summer? Slightly weird right.
According to the news of transfer marker, Bernes only has one player on his books and it’s the Lyon star which is probably better in terms of speculation, because if he had a bunch of stars it would send the rumour mill into overdrive. With another season behind him without injury, maybe the dream of seeing Fekir in Red hasn not completely died yet. He’s made 31 appearances this campaign and has 12 goals plus seven assists.
Edwards would have dealt closely with Bernes during negotiations for Fekir last summer. Does this mean Liverpool will go back in for Fekir? Probably not, why let that stop the latest frenzy? The knee appears to be holding together, and Liverpool seem to be in the market for another attacker. It’ll be absolute scenes if this transfer goes through in the summer, and then maybe the donation will make sense!
It is the transfer rumour that refuses to go away despite all common sense and logic, reigniting back into life when you least expect it for the most bizarre reasons.
Liverpool is in the market for another attacker if the deal once again happen between the Lyon forward and the Reds and it goes well then the donation will surely going to make sense. However it also be the case that Edwards and Bernes remained on friendly negotiations and this is just a nice act by a caring guy. Based on how things ended between Fekir and Liverpool, let us assume that this is the case.
