Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane has given his take on the fierce race for Premier League title with second-placed Manchester City.
Liverpool edged Brighton and Hove Albion by a goal to nil last time out as Mohamed Salah yet again was on target for Liverpool. This has seen the Reds maintaining their four points lead over second-placed Manchester City who won comfortably against Wolves by three goals to nil a few days ago. The title race is gearing up immensely and both the sides know that every point is now immensely crucial.
On this very note, Liverpool’s star forward, Sadio Mane has given his say.
“This is not a team of chokers. I am sure we will be champions of England. When I wake up, I don’t go to the training ground thinking we will not win. We are determined to show we are the best team in the league,” Sadio Mane told the reporters.
“It is not easy to hear people accuse the team of being chokers but we have to ignore it and focus on what is in front of us. Liverpool had the chance to win it a few years ago and did not do it but I prefer to think it helped to bring us where we are now. This is not a team of chokers. I am sure we will win the league,” the Senegalese added.
After suffering two back to back defeats, Reds have bounced back against Brighton and Hove Albion. Recent injury to Trent Alexander Arnold is an absolute blow and it has added to backline woes.
Next up is a slightly tricky fixture as they host Crystal Palace at Anfield, a side which has recently defeated Manchester City by three goals to two.
Now the crucial period for Jurgen Klopp’s men has been kick-started. Title race would gather momentum and Reds need to retain consistency and must not deviate their focus as Manchester City would do anything to usurp them.
