The player’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Liverpool ended 2018 in the perfect way. Liverpool were at the top of the Premier League with 4 points lead at the top. However, 2019 didn’t start in the perfect way. They lost to Manchester City and were out in the fourth round of F.A Cup. The Reds also lost the likes of Deja Lovren. The injury has put more problems on Liverpool’s title challenge. It seems Jurgen Klopp wants to add more depth to Liverpool squad. Liverpool may get their target after the player sacked his agent after failing to secure a move in January.
Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot ‘sacks his mum’ after his failed transfer this January. The France international was frustrated at the failure of his proposed transfer from PSG to Barcelona. Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot has responded to the collapse of his purported move to Barcelona by sacking his agent – who happens to be his mother. The Paris Saint Germain midfielder was close to joining the Spanish champions in January, but the deal collapsed after the French side refused to negotiate terms over a fee. Rabiot is in the final six months of his deal in Paris, and could have signed a pre-contract agreement with Barca, but his agent and mother failed to get a deal over the line. That failure proved an intolerable strain on the pair’s working relationship, and Rabiot has has since relieved her of her duties. The 23 year-old France international has been out of the PSG side since making clear his intention to leave the Parc de Princes, and the scuppering of his prospective switch to Catalonia could now alert Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool , who have been heavily linked with the player.
The Anfield side have repeatedly denied they are keeping tabs on Rabiot, and Barca are believed to still be open to the possibility of the midfielder joining them – but only if the player’s new representation make the first move. Rabiot’s mother failed to close out the deal on the table from Barcelona, and while the LaLiga giants could yet re-open talks, they have since signed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax and are likely to prioritise other positions now as a result.
And after watching Aaron Ramsey sign an enormous £400,000 a week deal to join Juventus as a free agent recently, Rabiot is said to have replaced his mother as his agent to best secure his own mouthwatering transfer deal this summer.
The cooling of interests could in turn render the France international a person of interest for the Reds, who got a close-up look at Rabiot when the sides met in the Champions League earlier in the season.
