Liverpool’s front three aren’t scoring goals this season. With only 2 goals in last 4 games, there looks a sense of worry in attack for Jurgen Klopp and his men. However, with two months to go for the transfer window, Liverpool are already targeting an attacking player.
The front three of Liverpool line up aren’t cracking goals. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminho aren’t replicating the golden touch that they had last season. Mo Salah hasn’t scored against any top team this season so far. New signing Shaqiri also finds it difficult to score and hasn’t settled at Anfield yet. Jurgen Klopp is looking for reinforcements. With two months to go for the January transfer window, the Reds are targeting an attacking player.
Liverpool are looking at reinforcing their faltering front line. The start to the season for the Liverpool front three is causing much stress for the fans. Jurgen Klopp may agree to send scouts to watch transfer prospect Steven Bergwijn this weekend.
Sport.es claim that both Liverpool and Manchester United have sent observers to watch the PSV forward in action this season. The Dutch player has bagged four goals and added four assists. He has had a strong start to this season’s Eredivisie.
The Dutch under-21 international has garnered more attention after countless clubs have sent scouts to watch top prospect Hirving Lozano. He is a winger operating on both the flanks. This year he has been played predominantly on the right-wing and could come to Anfield as a rotation option for Mohamed Salah.
Steven Bergwijn has a €20 million (£17.6 million) release clause in his contract. He appears as an ideal candidate for the Liverpool recruitment policy under Klopp and FSG. He is young, cheap and talented. It’s hard to have a second fiddle of the same quality as of Mane and Salah.
Author’s take:
Liverpool are lacking players who can make an impact by coming off the bench. Klopp hasn’t rotated the squad that much and should have rested players for better performance. However, the back up of Firminho, Mane and Salah aren’t half as good as the attacking trio. Liverpool must act quickly if they want to sign the attacking player.
