According to the latest reports, Liverpool is planning to raid Napoli superstar Lorenzo Insigne as an alternative for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the winter transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is currently flying high in the Premier League as they sit at the summit of the English top division league with 45 points after 17 games. The Reds are also the only club that is still undefeated in the Premier League but Manchester City are still just one point behind the leaders.
The Merseyside club has also qualified through to the last 16 in the Champions League after being put in a tricky group. But Klopp still believes that his dynamic attack still needs some more firepower if Liverpool is to win trophies in the near future.
There were reports that Barcelona outcast Ousmane Dembele was linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all interested in the French winger to lure him to England. But Liverpool has now reportedly given up on the chase for Dembele as there is too much competition and Barcelona may not be willing to let go of their young superstar as he is slowly showing glimpses of brilliance.
Instead of Dembele, Liverpool is willing to splash out around a massive transfer fee of £90 million (€100 million) on Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne. The 27-year-old caught the eye of Klopp when Liverpool faced Napoli over two legs in the Champions League. Insigne scored the winning goal in Naples and has 10 this season.
Insigne has also remained loyal to Napoli since 2009 but with his game being taken to the next level, the Italian forward may look to move away from Italy in order to win more titles in his career. A move to Anfield in January is a possibility if Insigne decides to do so in the winter.

I doubt that Klopp will look to re-enforce his attack with such massive transfer funds on just one player in the winter. However, if Liverpool gets a top quality forward for a slightly lower price they could make a bid.
