Liverpool are looking to sell both Harry Wilson and Marco Grujic for a combined transfer fee of £40 million. According to the report from The Athletic, plenty of other fringe players will be sold in this transfer window at Anfield.
Both Grujic and Wilson spend the last two seasons on loan, both impressed on their spells. But both midfielders are not in the plans of Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool announced the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayer Munich for a fee of £27 million yesterday. Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Diogo Jota is also on the way to Liverpool for a transfer fee of £45 million. These two big-name signings within two days have opened doors for departures at Anfield.
Both Wilson and Grujic were absent from the squad against Leeds on the Premier League opening fixture. It will be very difficult for them to get into the squad after the arrivals of Thiago and Jota. Liverpool is looking to sell them on a permanent basis instead of loan offers.
Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in Marco Grujic?
Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach showed interest in Grujic June but no official bid has been made yet. Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose has impressed with Grujic’s development with Hertha Berlin. He is looking to sign a Serbian midfielder on an initial loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season. Premier League sides West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also keeping tabs on the Grujic situation.
Marco Grujic spent the last two seasons on loan at another Bundesliga side Hertha Belin. He impressed during his time with Hertha with 9 goals and 3 assists. Hertha Berlin is also interested in Grujic signing but are unwilling to meet his £20 million valuations.
The 24-year-old Serbian international joined Liverpool in 2016 from Red Star Belgrade. But he only featured in 14 matches for the Premier League Champions.
Aston Villa leading race for the signing of Harry Wilson
Several Premier League clubs interested in the 23-year-old wide playmaker. Aston Villa, Leeds, and Fulham are a serious contender for the Welsh International.
Aston Villa is refusing to meet Liverpool’s £20 million for Harry Wilson. They are genuinely interested in the player and ready to offer around £12 million for Wales International winger. Other clubs also waiting on Liverpool’s stance on player valuation.
Wilson spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, he impressed with 7 goals in 31 appearances. He also signed a new contract with Merseyside giants at the end of the last season. This is the real reason Liverpool values their academy player at £20 million.
Plenty of departures at Anfield with the arrival of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota?
Liverpool are having a very successful transfer window after the arrival of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota. They have also signed left-back Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos for a fee of £12 million.
Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, and Nathaniel Clyne have already left the club and there will be more departures in the coming weeks. Liverpool are looking to offload highly-rated 20-year-old forward Rhian Brewster on loan or permanent basis.
Georginio Wijnaldum also strongly linked with a Barcelona move, who has only a year left on his contract. Thiago will be a direct replacement on the starting eleven for the Dutch International at Anfield.
