Uruguayan international Lucas Torriera might as well taken a decision closer to securing a permanent transfer away from Arsenal. As per the reports, Torriera is set to join a French club anytime soon.
The 24-year-old star midfielder has been one of the major talking points in the transfer window. In fact, he has been an important player since completing a loan move to Atletico Madrid.
However, he hasn’t managed to impress Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. The young prospect started just 2 games for Atletico Madrid this season. He was only warming up the bench more often than not.
Monacco offer Lucas Torreira Life-line
As per a report by Marca earlier this month, Lucas Torreira was expected to stay here itself beyond this transfer window. As per Tuttomercatoweb, Monaco FC has contacted both Arsenal and Lucas Torreira.

It seems that the Ligue 1 side have apparently offered the Uruguayan international a 3-year contract. It has been learned that the offer tempts Arsenal and Uruguayan international Torrierra.
Needless to say, it will be quite interesting to see what’s in store for the Arsenal midfielder. Atletico Madrid named Torriera in their squad against Valencia in Sunday’s encounter.
Although he didn’t start the game, he came on as a substitute player during the match. Talking about the game, Atletico Madrid beat Valencia by 3-1. The likes of Felix, Luis Suarez, and Correa scored a goal each while Uros Racic scored a goal for Valencia.
However, a player like Torriera shouldn’t be warming the bench. He wants to spend more time on the pitch. On the other hand, Arsenal will be more than happy to offload him permanently. Sadly, even after possessing so much talent in his resume, he could not be an asset under Arteta’s game plan.
It would surely be a big mistake if Arsenal offloads him for a cheap price. With Arsenal looking to strengthen their squad, it presents a great chance for the Gunners to cash in if the opportunity arises this month.
Arsenal play Southampton in the next game
The Gunners came under fire after losing to the Saints in the 4th Round of FA Cup clash at St Mary’s Stadium. With a 0-1 defeat, the Gunners failed to defend their title under Mikel Arteta. Gabriel scored an own goal in the 24th minute and since then there has been no sign of intent from Arteta’s boys.
Arsenal are already out of Carabao Cup and FA Cup now. They are currently in the Europa League competition as they will lock horns with Benfica in the Round of 32 on February 19. After that, the Gunners will invite them to the Emirates on February 25.
The Gunners will look to take revenge against Southampton in a Premier League fixture at the same venue on January 27. After that, they will lock horns with Manchester United at the Emirates on January 30.
