The Los Blancos are feared for their extremely strong midfield around the footballing world and tend dominate a match when the midfield maestros are in form. This season as Zinedine Zidane is back at the Bernabeu he wants to make specific changes in the Madrid midfield which will ensure their prowess through the upcoming seasons.
Florentino Perez has already delivered a number of new signings this summer, with Zinedine Zidane desperate for the squad to be reshaped, yet there is still the prospect of the club making the necessary effort to reinforce the centre of midfield before the start of the campaign.
Through out the transfer season a player heavily linked with Real Madrid is the French midfielder Paul Pogba, but a 90 minute meeting between Perez, Zidane and Jose Angel Sanchez inside the closed doors of the Ritz Carlton Hotel has made the Frenchman realize that his prized signing won’t be wearing the white Madrid jersey in the 2019-20 season unless there’s a miracle. The meeting also discussed what remains to be done in the remaining transfer market.
Though Manchester United are unwilling to sell their star player, Paul Pogba remains the first choice for the former Madrid galactico and the management believes that the French international with his agent Mino Riola trying his best to leave the Premier League football and search for the new challenge he hopes for this season. There are other players in the pool as well and getting them a ticket to the Madrid camp is still possible. Donnie Van De Beek and Christian Eriksen are two names that have popped up in recent times. Van De Beek had an amazing season at Ajax and Eriksen also like Pogba wanting a new challenge just fan flame about their arrival in the Bernabeu.
Though players in the squad who are positioned in the midfield are world class players like Tony Kroos, Casemiro, Fede Valverde and the Ballon d’or winner Luka Modric and are realistic options in the eyes of the Madrid bosses, Zidane stills hopes for a change. In a time where names like Dani Ceballos are flushed in rumors of a move on loan to Arsenal or Tottenham. Also, Zidane doesn’t want James Rodriguez to stay and is looking to sell him to the highest bidder and the last name of Isco is also not a player that Zidane sees fit to play in the Central Midfield.
Though Isco wants to stay at Madrid, Zidane is not the coach who would want him to play at a central midfielder role, that is the reason why Zinedine Zidane is desperate for another midfielder signing and is making the hierarchy of the Los Blancos know. Hopefully Madrid with Zidane at the helm will get a midfielder of their choice before the end of this transfer season with the strategies they are planning to pull.
