Arsenal’s star right-back, Hector Bellerin, has attracted interest from Manchester City as well who will have to beat Barcelona in the race for the 21-year-old. The former La Masia product, signed for Arsenal in 2011 after spending 8 years in Barcelona’s star academy.
According to reports, the Blaugranas are looking to replace Dani Alves, who joined Juventus this summer, with Arsenal’s star player after Aleix Vidal failed to adapt to the style of Luis Enrique. Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, Manchester City have also expressed their interest in the Spanish international.
Hector Bellerin is under contract with the Gunners until 2019, while reports have risen in Spain that the Catalan team wants to steal the young right-back from Arsenal. However, Manchester City’s co-assistant coach Mikel Arteta, who is close friends with Hector Bellerin, might be a big influence for the Spanish defender to sign for the Citizens.
If the Nou Camp outfit successfully lands the Arsenal defender, Bellerin will join the list of Cesc Fabregas, Thierry Henry, Alex Song and Thomas Vermaelen among those Arsenal players who joined the Catalan team.
To lure the Spanish defender away from the Emirates Stadium, City and Barcelona will have to meet his price of a whooping £40 million, which will make him the most expensive right-back in the game.
