Manchester City is looking to sign Leon Bailey from Leverkusen. Leroy Sane is likely to make an exit this summer.
Sane is a player who can play on both flanks. Despite being out on injury and sitting on the bench in certain games. Sane was key to Pep’s Man City lineup. There were certain games where Sane came in the last minute to save City. But it seems like they are getting ready to part ways.
Pep Guardiola does have a player in mind to replace the winger. Bayer Leverkusen wingman Leon Bailey is the ideal option. The Jamaica international is the most apt replacement in the current market. The Bundesliga side is asking for a £40m transfer fee for their star.
Pep is trying to cash in on Sane.
The 24-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with City. Hence Pep is keen on cashing in on the star before he goes off for free. Since Sane snubbed off any extension plans Pep is looking to sell him. There is a strong interest from Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
Leroy Sane is also keen to make a return to Germany. Bayern Munich is willing to sign the German international. The Bundesliga side is even willing to give him the no. 10 Jersey. Which is currently worn by Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian is unlikely to extend his loan period this summer. Hence, Bayern can accommodate Sane in the no. 10 spot.
Manchester City is already looking for options to sign Leon Bailey. The Bayer Leverkusen winger is an apt replacement for Sane. Like Sane, Bailey can also play on both wings. Pep Guardiola likes to have flexible wingers in his squad. Sane and Sterling were both made to play at either wings time and around.
Man City are keen to land Bailey
Leon Bailey can be a like-for-like replacement for Sane. Man City has long been an admirer of the Jamaican, as per Express UK. Bailey is basically a left-footer but can use his weak foot at full potential as well. Hence giving him the ability to play on both flanks.
The Leverkusen man is an impressive winger with seven goals in 24 appearances. He is an aggressive presser, hence earning two red cards at Leverkusen. Pep Guardiola can make great use of such a player and bring in more attacks to his lineup. With Sterling starting to play from the left, Bailey can provide support on the right. Since the players can play on both flanks it can happen the other way around as well.
Bayer Leverkusen is asking for a £40m price for the winger. Arsenal is also keen to sign Bailey. But Manchester City can overpower them with their better financial status.
But the only stumbling block for City will be their two-year UCL ban. The Jamaican is keen to play in the higher ranks of football. He wishes to play in the Champions League and set an example for his natives. Signing for Manchester City can surely help him achieve his dreams. But City is facing trouble with a two-year ban from the CL. They have already gone for an appeal to remove the ban. But if things go sideways, they may lose their dream target.
