Man City joins the race to sign Man United and Chelsea Bundesliga star

Manchester City joins the race alongside Manchester United and Chelsea to sign Borussia Monchengladbach defensive midfielder. The Premier League clubs have already set sights on the Bundesliga star prior to Summer Transfer window. But, the clubs couldn’t sign the star player within the given slot. The clubs are now set to seal the deal for the midfielder in the January transfer window.

The Londoners spent some good cash this season to sign some star names this summer. While Man United came in late in the window to sign Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles just before deadline day. Both new signings have proved to be worthy in recent games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

While Chelsea star signings are also helping Lampard to inch closer to the top spot. Currently, they are enjoying the third position in the league table after a goalless draw against Tottenham last Sunday. Initially, Hakim Ziyech was not match fit and had to wait to make his debut in Premier League. However, all new signings have made their starts in the Premier League and hoping for a good finish.

The Citizens as usual made some good buys in the recently concluded summer transfer window. Pep Guardiola’s first two signings were Spain National team’s new hero Ferran Torres and former Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake. The club also made a wise decision by landing Portuguese international Ruben Dias from Benfica with Otamendi going the other way.

According to Daily Star, Manchester City is the latest club to enter into the race to sign defensive all-rounder Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach. Along with Premier League clubs, FC Bayern Munich are also keen to secure the services of Switzerland international.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder attracted interest after his stellar performance with the Bundesliga outfit last term. He was also the key player to land a Champions League spot for Gladbach.

Zakaria still on City’s radar

Manchester City had sights on the defensive all-rounder before the summer transfer window. The club couldn’t sign the defensive midfielder with a number of clubs having him on their list. The versatile midfielder was crucial for the Bundesliga outfit to have the Champions League spot.

Pep Guardiola’s side already has two defensive midfielders on their roster. Their skipper Fernandinho is the key defensive midfielder in the side. Former Atletico Madrid star Rodri is also the choice for Pep but primarily plays the pivotal role. While Fernandinho plays deep and as centre-back when the side had a number of injuries.

Denis Zakaria could exactly be the similar type of player that City needs at this moment. He can also replace Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho in the future if Pep can permanently sign the talent. The midfielder can play a vital role that, Pep needs at this moment.

Champions League winners Bayern Munich are having their top priorities for the January transfer window. Hansi Flick wants to seal the deal for Borussia Monchengladbach’s pair- Neuhaus and Zakaria in the next window. Both players have been key figures for the club from Borussia.

The Bavarians are looking for a premium replacement of their veteran Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez. Javi has been with the club since 2012. Denis Zakaria could be a perfect replacement for the Spanish midfielder. Bayern Munich recently signed Marc Roca from La Liga as well.

The club is also looking for Florian Neuhaus in addition to Gladbach. However, the club from Borussia wants to extend the contract of Zakaria, whose current market value is around €40m. Zakaria can opt for a new journey to showcase his class in a different league and level.
