The likes of Pochettino and Zidane are all linked with the Old Trafford. This United legend is set to become the manager.
With six wins out of six, it seems United are heading in the right direction. There’s not a single player who has not benefited from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival. Solskjaer has brought smiles to everyone’s face. It has led to many players demanding Solskjaer to stay in charge of Old Trafford beyond summer. Former United player Wayne Rooney believes Mauricio Pochettino should be the next United manager. It seems Manchester United have dropped hint who their next manager is after talks with Solskjaer.

Manchester United have consulted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the club’s transfer plans after seeking the Norwegian’s opinion on the squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho. Solskjaer has made a faultless start to life as caretaker boss at Old Trafford. As a result he has put himself in the frame to take the job on a full time basis this summer. Jose Mourinho had been keen to strengthen his defence in the January transfer market but – barring the unexpected availability of a top target such as Kalidou Koulibaly – the Red Devils are minded to save the cash until the summer transfer window when a permanent manager will be in place.
Mauricio Pochettino remains the club’s first choice to take charge. But Solskjaer has the backing of supporters. The clamour for his appointment will only increase if he manages to finish in the top four. The Norwegian’s role at this stage remains advisory and though the club feel it’s only right that he’s involved in discussions, it’s another indication that the 45-year-old will be considered for the role on a permanent basis this summer.
Solskjaer and his side’s unbeaten start to his tenure at the Theatre of Dreams will come under threat against Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday.
Author’s Take:
The impact of Solskjaer’s arrival has been remarkable given he’s spent just over a month back at Old Trafford. The club have accelerated contract talks with a string of first-team stars. However, it’s too early to decide whether Solskjaer should be hired on permanent basis.
