Manchester United are eying four potential replacements for the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Old Trafford club had a good start to the season with a thumping 4-0 win over Chelsea. Since then, they have failed to secure win against clubs like West Ham United, Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Wolves. The Red Devils are now placed at 8th position in the league table just above Burnley with 10 points.
Solskjaer’s men secured a narrow victory over Rochdale in Football League Cup third round this Wednesday, which went on to penalties to decide the fate. Already small set of the fanbase has started ‘Ole out’ campaign after their poor start to the season, with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as fan favorite to replace the Norwegian manager.
However, Daily Star has reported that there are four alternatives being eyed by United chiefs behind the scenes and Pochettino is not one among them. Let’s take a look at the four potential replacements for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
1. Massimiliano Allegri
Allegri is a type of manager who can walk into any club in the world, hiring him as a free agent would be a big boost for the Red Devils. The Italian manager has a ton of experience when it comes down to managing and he would be the right choice for the English club to take over as manager.
The former Juventus manager has won five consecutive Seria A titles on the trot in Turin before leaving Juventus this summer. Allegri’s experience is his plus and reportedly learning English in the plan of managing top Premier Club when he decides the time is right to return to football.
The 52-year-old can also influence and bring Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic to Old Trafford, who was their potential targets over the summer.
