The Red Devils are desperate to land a World Class defender and want to lure this Serie A defender.
It’s an open secret that Manchester United are desperate to land a defender in 2019. Their leaky defense led to Jose Mourinho to deploy the likes of Nemanja Matic and McTominay play at centre back. The Red Devils have conceded the most goals in top 6 of the Premier League this season. Under Solskjaer, United have kept only one clean sheet, it has led to the Red Devils launching a bid to lure this defender.
Manchester United have already tabled an offer worth around $69.4 million to sign Milan Skriniar. Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is thought to be top of their wanted list thanks to his impressive form at the Stadio San Paolo. Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis, though, has insisted he is unwilling to sell Koulibaly having already rejected a £95m bid. And it seems Manchester United might have turned their attention to Skriniar, who former manager Jose Mourinho was keen on. United may have improved so far under Solksjaer. But it might not be a terrible idea to take advantage of the January transfer window. The Red Devils are in the race for a top-four spot and a signing could help them finish top 4.
Skriniar has been rumored to be on United’s radar. The Red Devils are reported to have already made a strong bid of $69.4million to sign him. It seems Inter Milan could sacrifice Skriniar to free up a spot in their squad for Diego Godin. The Nerazzurri are still convincing the Slovak to sign a contract but it seems Skriniar is yet to pen down the contract. Inter are apparently only willing to pay Skriniar £2.2m a year. Skrinar is demanding £3.6m (€4m). United are said to have “equalized” Inter’s salary offer to Skriniar in the past few days.
The Red Devils will be facing tough competition from other clubs if they want to sign world class defenders. Paris Saint Germain are also keen to lure Skriniar. Given it’s January transfer window, no club will keen to do business. A summer move for Skriniar may be possible for Manchester United.
