Man United News: The Red Devils are a team that is low confidence, considering their poor run of form. They were unable to beat Everton and before that, they lost to Aston Villa at home. A new low was when they lost 4-2 to Leicester City. The visitors never really created meaningful chances while conceding four at the other end.

This has resulted in the fans and pundits debating whether Solskjear is the right man for the job or not. This is not for the first time that news about Norwegian’s sacking have been intensified. However, other times he was able to justify that by getting the desired results for his team. Even last season they made a statement when they finished second and this season they were expected to challenge for the title.

But it looks like that won’t be the case this season. Solskjear is now under more pressure with the club splashing the cash in the transfer window. So far the results haven’t been good enough considering the team that he has assembled over the years. Thus Sky Sports Pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher debated on Solskjear’s future at the club.

Man United news: Gary Neville backs his Ole

Neville admitted that his former teammate is under pressure and rightly so. However, he insisted that Manchester United are unlikely to sack him and appoint a new manager anytime soon. The former Red Devils captain backed his hypothesis by giving the example of Jose Mourinho and Louis Van Gaal.

Gary Neville backs his former pal

He argued both Mourinho and Van Gaal were world-class managers but both of them could not succeed at Old Trafford. According to him, the Red Devils have taken that route before appointing a world-class manager. Thus they should stick with the Norwegian. He also stated that he will not call for the sacking for his former pal.

Although he pointed out that the former Cardiff City manager has to perform well given the set of players he has with him. Neville said that if the Red Devils finish in the top four and win a trophy as well under Solskjear this season, it will be considered a successful season.

Man United news: Carragher calls for practicality

Jamie Carragher does not agree with his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville. The former Liverpool defender praised the United legend, saying that “Solskjaer has done a good job at United, it could have gone horribly wrong.”

However, he pointed out that despite his merit Solskjær is not at the same level as Guardiola, Tuchel or Klopp. Carragher said that since he does not operate on the same level as these top managers he won’t be able to win the Champions League for Manchester United. He further backed his argument by stating that the Norwegian does not possess the necessary experience required at the top level.

The Sky Sports pundit insisted that Manchester United should let go of the former Cardiff City manager and get a better manager. He pointed out that he was not criticising Solskjær, but it was something he believes the manager and the fans know as well.

Manchester United news: Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s future at Old Trafford

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the club is willing to back its current manager. Thus for the time being his job is safe at Manchester United. However, he still needs to get the results for his team.

Although the Red Devils are protecting their manager they also expect results and things to improve soon. Though there has been speculation that Zinedine Zidane might take over at the club Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on these rumours.

According to him, there has been no contact with Zidane as they continue to protect the former Cardiff City manager. He also revealed that the same is the status with the likes of Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti.

12th Man Opinion

There is no doubt that Ole Gunnar Solskjear has done a lot for Manchester United. However, considering the poor results in recent games, the Red Devils fans are likely to be more convinced by Jammier Carragher.
