Man United target 23 year old striker as Erling Haaland alternative

Manchester United set sights on English striker as a long-term alternative for Erling Haaland. The Red Devils are in search of a young striker in the market for quite some time. However, they haven’t been able to sign their targets in the window.

Norwegian manager was keen to land Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window. However, United couldn’t complete the deal to bring the English forward to Old Trafford. United ended up signing Edinson Cavani before the deadline on a free transfer.

Marcus Rashford has been doing well for the Red Devils especially this season. The English international has been fantastic for United in the European competitions. But, the club failed to qualify for the next stage of the tournament after two defeats towards the end of group stages.

Even though Marcus Rashford has done well for his club this term, his partners upfront hasn’t done well. Anthony Martial is out of form this term for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Former Monaco star has just a goal in ten appearances in Premier League this season.

While other two center-forwards Ighalo and Cavani have been in and out for the Red Devils. Ighalo has played just a single fixture for his club in Premier League. Former PSG striker Edinson Cavani is yet to find his full-form at Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan striker has made eight outings so far in Premier League and managed three goals and two assists. Ole needs an extra effort from the veteran striker with Anthony Martial in bad touch at the moment.

According to The Athletic, as quoted by The Sun

, Manchester United believe Calvert-Lewin would be a good signing to add to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team. Everton forward could be the alternative for Erling Haaland.

United has been not good in front of the goal this season, especially their centre-forwards. The wingers and attackers have stepped up for the club with their strikers having a tough time this term.

Norwegian manager’s side is currently at fourth position in the table. Ole has already mentioned that he needs reinforcements in the January transfer window for a strong finish.

The club might also see several players leave Old Trafford next year. Likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard expressing their desire to leave United by next year. A number of top-flight clubs are lining up bids for these outgoing stars.

Demand for Ancelotti’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Manchester United are keen to secure the services of in-form striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The English forward has been exceptional for the Toffees in front of the goal. Calvert-Lewin is very good in the air, which is quite special in modern day football.

Everton striker has flourished since Carlo Ancelotti took over the reins at the Merseyside outfit, scoring 27 times in 50 games. He could be a great addition to United, but it’ll take something extra special to lure the striker. United did enquire about the availability of Calvert-Lewin with Everton quoting an £80m price tag.
