Man Utd Boss Jose Mourinho targets three Barcelona players

Jose Mourinho is all set to prepare his club to catch up with rivals Man City. Eyes for three Barcelona players to sign at the summer transfer window.

Man City are flying at the top of the table ahead of Man Utd with a 16 pts difference. Pep Guardiola’s side is on the verge of winning his first title in English Premier.

The Reds have fallen short in challenging their rival in Premier League this season. Mourinho has spent just over £300million in his two years at Old Trafford, significantly short of the £475m his arch-rival has been able to spend at City in the same time frame. The Red Devils are desperate to close the gap to City and win their first Premier League title since 2013.

Earlier this season the 55-year old manager had shown his concern for lack of winners in his Man Utd squad. Mourinho is desperate to revamp his squad by bringing new players. Spanish outlet Don Balon suggest the United boss has already drawn up an extensive list of targets, including three from Barcelona.

The Portuguese reportedly is planning a triple raid on Bracelona to bring Andre Gomes, Samuel Utiti and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to Old Trafford.

André Gomes, the 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder, who joined Barcelona 2016, will be a surprise as the midfielder has failed to impress the elders and the fans at Nou Camp.

Samuel Utiti a key member of the Barcelona first team when fit but whose release clause is currently set at a derisory €60m. “Mourinho,” Don Balon claims, “considers that price quite a bargain.” Defender Utiti has been linked before, and would be a steal for Mourinho.

While Marc-Andre ter Stegen the German goalkeeper who has been identified as the ideal replacement, would only happen if David de Gea moves to Real Madrid. Mourinho’s team meets their nearest rivals Liverpool on Saturday at Old Trafford.

AUTHOR’S  TAKE

If reports believed to be true Jose Mourinho is all set for a triple swoop in Barcelona. Whether he succeeds only time will tell. However, the Reds need to gear up and come in action if they want to catch up with their rivals.
