Man Utd news: Anthony Martial has named the best player he has ever played with, and it is Wayne Rooney.
The Man Utd and France attacker has played alongside some of the best footballers in the world, including current club teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Martial has been playing for Man Utd since leaving French side AS Monaco for the Premier League outfit in 2015.
The France international shared the dressing room with Rooney in his first two seasons at the club. Rooney and Martial were teammates in 2015/16, and 2016/17 seasons until the former joined Everton in 2017.

Martial has now named Rooney as the best he has ever played with. The 26-year-old heaped praise on Rooney, describing the former England international as a ‘monster’ and a ‘model as a footballer’.
Martial also praised Rooney’s selflessness, noting that he always plays for the team. “We have spoken about being genuine and so I can speak about Wayne Rooney. He’s the best player I have played with,” Martial told France Football.
“He’s always playing for the team, always at 100%, no fuss. A monster. And a model as a footballer.”
Since joining Man Utd, Martial has featured in 270 games for the Old Trafford outfit and has scored a respectable 79 goals.
Martial has also spent half a season on loan at La Liga side Sevilla. He joined Sevilla on loan from Man Utd in the second half of the 2021/22 season.
Meanwhile, Martial has only featured in one game for Man Utd this season. He came off the bench in Man Utd’s 2-1 win over Liverpool. He assisted Rashford for Man Utd’s second goal of the match.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have bounced back after a dreadful start to the Premier League 22/23 season. They slumped to defeats in their first two matches, losing 2-1 to Brighton and 4-0 to Brentford.
Man Utd have since played four matches in the English top-flight and has won all. The Red Devils’ first victory of the season came against Liverpool. They then secured 1-0 wins over both Southampton and Leicester City.
Man Utd made it four wins in a row when they faced Arsenal, defeating them 3-1 at Old Trafford.
Man Utd then kicked off their Europa League campaign. They hosted Real Sociedad in the group stage and fell to a 1-0 defeat.
