Manchester City look to strengthen position
Pep Guardiola’s team are working very hard to get back to the top of the table. They won the title in the 2018-19 season but they couldn’t defend the title in the following season.
Liverpool won the title last season and provided a great start to the ongoing season. However, City are not out of the title race. They are six points behind table-toppers Liverpool with a game in hand.
In the recent development, it was learned that Man City are looking to strengthen its position if a move is possible in January. The four-time EPL champions were in the transfer market last summer in search of a left-back.
They were keen to sign the services of Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico. Man City was working to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko in order to bring Nicolas as his replacement. But, the deal didn’t happen.
Tagliafico still remains on City radar
Man City’s boss is not satisfied with the current left-backs and wants to bring a new player. As per the reports, the club are in the market to recruit a new player of that position in the January transfer window. Tagliafico is still on City’s target list.
Man City are more likely to express interest again as they held talks with his agents in the summer. The Argentine international is keen to switch from Ajax and could possibly consider a transfer to Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window.
