Manchester City News: It can be undoubtedly said that the last decade in the Premier League has belonged to Manchester City. The Blue half of Manchester has been absolutely dominant over the Red half.

However, while Manchester City has been exceptional, we must also acknowledge that Manchester United has been extremely poor. They have themselves to blame for their poor record.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, Manchester United have failed to lay their hand on the Premier League and still are far away from that dream. Their current aim is to register a place in the top four.

However, the story has been far different for Manchester City. They have won an astonishing eight major trophies since Pep Guardiola joined them back in the 2016/17 season and are looking to add on even more.

But one thing is certain- Pep Guardiola will leave Manchester City at one stage and they must get ready. Or else it might not be surprising to see Manchester City in the same position as United after a few years.

Manchester City News: City can end up as Manchester United says Rene Meulensteen

Rene Meulensteen has issued a stern warning to Manchester City and Liverpool FC about their further decisions. Meulensteen has said that City and Liverpool must get ready for life after Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp.

Rene Meulensteen was candid in his assessment. He says his former club has fallen from glory since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and the same can happen to Manchester City or Liverpool.

“United missed a trick not getting either of them. If you ask a Liverpool player “Do you know what you are doing?”, they will all say ‘Yes’,” he said.

You ask City players, no matter how Pep might change things around, “Do you know what you are doing?”, they will all say “Yes”.

Ask United players and I don’t think you get such an assured answer. Mind you, if either club does not prepare properly for when they leave, they’ll end up in the same position.”

Rene Meulensteen is very correct about his estimation. Pep Guardiola’s current contract at Manchester City will end in 2023 and they must prepare beforehand to avoid any collapse.
