Defending English Premier League champions, Manchester City are ready to pay big money for AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez in the upcoming transfer windows.
Theo Hernandez started his career at the academy of Rayo Majadahonda. He then joined the youth setup of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
The fullback graduated from the Atletico Madrid academy and played for the reserve team for two years before joining Deportivo Alaves on loan. After a successful loan deal, Alaves joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2017 when the Los Blancos paid €24 million for the French left-back. He won a UEFA Champions League with the Spanish giants.
Alaves failed to secure his spot in the Madrid squad and was loaned out to Real Sociedad in his second season. He had a decent season for la Real and returned back to Los Blancos. Then the fullback was signed by Italian giants AC Milan. Finally, Theo Hernandez helped AC Milan to win their first Serie-A title in eleven years.
Manchester City Intend to Sign Theo Hernandez
Now according to a report from the Italian website Calciomercato, English Premier League giants Manchester City want to sign French international Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.
Since joining Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has had his fair share of troubles regarding the left-back position. It finally seemed over when Joao Cancelo played as an inverted fullback in the last season.
But, after the injury of Kyle Walker, Manchester City are currently thin on the fullback position. Pep Guardiola had to deploy his centre-backs in the right-back role sometimes to accommodate Joao Cancelo in the left-back position.
Now it seems like City gaffer wants to sign a more conventional left-back to end this issue. Hence they are looking at Theo Hernandez who is currently one of the best in the business.
The Frenchman is one of the most important players for the defending Serie-A champions. They don’t have any interest in selling him. But Manchester City want to offer them a huge sum which is expected to be over €100 million.
This can be a very tempting offer for the Rossoneri. If City can land Theo Hernandez, they can easily play Joao Cancelo in the right-back position which will the centre-backs to play at their natural position.
Manchester City have got a great start to their English Premier League campaign. The Citizens currently have twenty-six points from eleven matches. They are in the second position, two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
