Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has reportedly told his former teammate Jude Bellingham to join him at the Etihad.
Rising from the academy of Birmingham City, Jude Bellingham became the youngest ever player to represent their senior team. Then Bellingham also became the youngest ever goalscorer for Birmingham.
He started to feature regularly for Birmingham at a very early age and performed consistently. His talent was soon noticed by many big clubs and they wanted to land the Englishman as early as possible. After looking at Borussia Dortmund’s [last records of developing youngsters, he decided to join the German team on a permanent transfer.
In Dortmund, Bellingham continued his development and was soon introduced to the first team dynamics soon. The midfielder then scored in his Dortmund debut and became the youngest player to do so. Since then the Englishman has been a key player for the German club and has already made more than 100 appearances for them.
Can Manchester City sign Bellingham?
According to some recent reports English Premier League giants, Manchester City are very interested to sign the Englishman, next summer.
And now journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that City’s newly striker and former teammate of Bellingham has asked the Englishman to join their team.
While speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs said, “You’ve got Manchester City, who haven’t yet moved but are very keen on the player and Erling Haaland has directly told Jude Bellingham that it would be a good move for him.
The journalist further added, “How much weight we put behind that remains to be seen. There will be other players, for example in the England camp, that have no doubt spoken to Bellingham about their respective clubs as well.”
Jacobs then reminded everyone that Haaland was Bellingham’s former teammate so this can actually become a decisive factor.
With his unique talent, Bellingham is one of the most sought-after players in the world. City will have to fight their fellow English Premier League teams Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool to land their youngster.
Apart from them, defending La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid are also very much interested in the midfielder.
It has been understood City will have to pay £83million upfront for the services of the midfielder. And if they failed to do so the price will rise to £132million. But then they can pay it in instalments.
Now the race for Bellingham is expected to be very intense. But according to the Sun, Manchester City are hopeful that they can sign him.
Earlier in the season, Bellingham played one of the best matches of his career against Manchester City in a 2-1 loss. He will once against feature against the Citizens in the Champions League.
The midfielder is in great form right now. He is one of the most important players for English manager Gareth Southgate ahead of the upcoming world cup. He will hope that Bellingham continues this rich form.
