Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has slammed all transfer Manchester City transfer rumours regarding Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia joined the academy of the Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi at a very early age. He then graduated from the academy and was promoted to the main team.
The forward played one season for the club and then joined another Georgian club Rustavi. After a great start in Rustavi, he spent the second half of the 2018-19 season with the Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow.
Following this, Khvicha joined another Russian club Rubin Kazan where he stayed for three years. The winger was then roped in by Dinamo Batumi at the start of 2022. Finally, Kvaratskhelia joined the Italian club Napoli on July 2022 for a reported fee of €12 million.
Napoli President Gives Update on Manchester City Target
Since joining Napoli at the start of the season, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has emerged to be a sensation for the Napoli fans. He has already netted five goals and provided three assists in the Serie-A. On top of this, the Georgian winger has got two goals and three assists in the UEFA Champions League too.
As a result, Napoli are currently at the top of Serie-A. They have also qualified for the next stage of the UEFA Champions League and a draw against Liverpool will help them to progress as the group champions.
Now after his sensational start, Kvaratskhelia is getting the attention of many big teams. Defending English Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly interested to bring the forward to the Etihad.
Since Raheem Sterling’s exit, Manchester City have not signed a traditional winger. They are currently on the market and are looking for a winger. Hence their interest in Georgian International began. However, now Napoli director Giuntoli has rejected all the rumours.

“I can tell you that Kvaratskhelia is 100% untouchable. He’s absolutely NOT on the market,” added Napoli’s director.
After his exploits with Napoli, Kvaratskhelia has become one of the fan favourites at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Earlier Kvaratskhelia’s father admitted that Khvicha is only thinking about Napoli. The love from the Napoli fans he received is one of the main reasons for it.
Now despite, Napoli director’s words, Manchester City will continue their pursuit of the Georgian winger.
