English Premier League giants Manchester City are interested in a swap deal with inter Milan regarding their Italian centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.
Alessandro Bastoni started his career at the academy of Atalanta. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to the main team of Atalanta.
The centre-back played one full season with La Dea before signings for fellow Serie-A team Inter Milan. Intern then loaned Bastoni out to his former team Atalanta for two more seasons. However, after the end of the 2017-18 season, he was recalled by the Nerazzurri.
He extended his contract and left for another loan spell. Finally, at the start of the 2019-20 season, Bastoni became a regular in the Inter Milan setup. The centre-back has already represented Italy on the international stage. He was a part of the Italian team that lifted the Euro Cup last year.
Manchester City Want to Sign Bastoni
Now according to a report from an Italian outlet Calciomercato, English Premier League giants Manchester City want to rope in Alessandro Bastroni from Inter Milan. The report further suggests that the English side will pay cash and offer Nathan Ake for the talented Italian.
Under Spanish gaffer, Pep Guardiola, Manchester City has managed to build one of the strongest teams in the world. The Citizens have ample depth in every position. But this does not stop them from signing young talented players.
Italian centre-back Alessandro Bastoni is one of the best young defenders in the world. The 23-year-old Italian has everything to be a part of Pep Guardiola’s side. The young centre-back is mainly known for his passing ability, ball control, aerial prowess, and one on one defending.Â
Meanwhile, Nathan Ake is currently enjoying the best part of his Manchester City career. The Dutch defender has the ability to play equally well as a centre-back and a left-back. City wants to offer a versatile defender in order to successfully land Bastoni.Â
On top of this, they will reportedly offer around €50 million cash for the defender. The Nerazzurri are not having their best time financially. So this might just be enough for City to secure the defender.
City’s English Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur are in the race for the Bastoni. Antonio Conte’s side failed to secure him the last summer and now will once again bid for him in the next few windows. So City will have to move fast to sign the defender.
