Manchester City 3-1 Swansea City : Player Ratings Of Yet Another Solid Display By Pep Guardiola’s Side

Swansea City hosted Manchester City twice in one week and Pep’s man again had to dig deeper to get the result they were hoping for. The visitors secured their 6th straight win in the league are sitting at the top with all 18 points up for the grab and Pep Guardiola’s men look a league apart from their rivals. The integration among the new arrivals at Etihad has happened really well. Gundögan was at the heart of almost everything that City were doing right on the pitch.

Sergio Aguero marked his return from the suspension with a great goal and continued his great goalscoring form in the league. Raheem Sterling has been really instrumental since Pep’s arrival and he proved what a talent he is again with a great goal.

Hardly had to make any heroic save. Kept hold of the ball well and was very decisive coming out and also in his distribution.

Slipped at a crucial moment as Llorente took the opportunity to equalise for Swans but was solid in his display other than that. His overlapping runs were causing trouble go Swansea defense.

His resurgence story has been inspiring but he failed to provide his usual service against Swansea. Defensively was leaving spaces at times.

Fernandinho – 8/10

He was threatening and a rock at the base of midfield. Took some shots from distance and his ball distribution. He had a shaky start to the game buy grew as the game went on. His pass to Aguero was something to applaud about.

Raheem Sterling – 7/10

Was quiet for most part of the game as Swansea closed him down well but he had some moments of trickery and scored a good goal.

Ilkay Gundogan – 8/10

The German was marauding the City midfield and attach when the chips were down in first half and was the one who controlled things for City buy fluffed a shit wide from Silva’s through ball.

Kevin De Bruyne – 6/10

Wasn’t at his usual best as his misplaced a few passes and shots weren’t coming from the middle too. Average at best on the day.
