Marcus Rashford was the player who finally came through for Manchester United in the 92nd minute, and scored the winner to win against a stoic Hull City side, and the Red Devils have now made it 3/3 wins under Jose Mourinho. The young Devil Rashford came on as a second-half replacement for Juan Mata, and turned Wayne Rooney’s slide-rule pass into the only goal of the entire match. He managed to break through Hull City’s strong resistance, and this led to Hull’s first loss of the season.

However, based on how they played last night, this Hull team has a lot of potential to do well. One cannot help but feel bad for them, as they really did put in their all to stay in the game, and actually almost managed to come to a draw with Manchester United. The Old Trafford side are now on par with Chelsea at the top of the table.

Read on below for the player ratings:

David De Gea

He had very little to do in the game, and was not involved much, aside from watching around two free kicks go wide. Rating – 6/10

Antonio Valencia

He is on his way to becoming United’s major attacking element. The bigger tests are yet to come for him defensively, but he is improving fast. Rating – 7.5/10

Luke Shaw

Robert Snodgrass was a threat and Shaw did well to save a goal in the first-half as he out-muscled him at the back post. Rating – 7/10

Eric Bailly

He was solid throughout and was strong, but he dived twice when there was absolutely no need to. Manchester United still managed a clean sheet under challenging circumstances. Rating – 6.5/10

Daley Blind

He was brilliant in the first half and fought an aerial battle with Abel Hernandez. Played extremely well under pressure. Rating – 8/10

Maraoune Fellaini

Picked up a booking in the first half which kind of sobered him up. However, he delivered a crucial performance in the midfield again. Rating – 8/10

Paul Pogba

He was undoubtedly the best in the first half as he drove the team forward. Covered a lot of ground in the second half and looked like he was the most likely to score before Rashford netted the winner. Rating – 9/10

Juan Mata

He put in a strong effort on the right, but he didn’t do much and was rightfully replaced by Rashford in the middle of the second half. Rating – 7/10

Anthony Martial

Martial seems like a case concern for United. He barely got a touch on the ball in the first half. He looks like he could use some rest after a long summer for France. Rating – 5/10

Wayne Rooney

He failed to do much ahead of the second half, but then he put up a sublime effort in creating a chance for Rashford to score the winner. Rating – 7.5/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

He did get chances to score, but nothing seemed to materialize, which led to a rather frustrating evening for him. Rating – 6/10

Substitutes

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Brought in some well-needed energy. Should play more. Rating – 7/10

Marcus Rashford Scored a very late winner and impressed. Rating – 8/10

Chris Smalling Too late to mark.
