New Manchester United signings, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were very close to signing for Manchester United’s rival clubs before they sealed their move to the Old Trafford, their agent spoke.

Famous agent, Mino Raiola sealed the deals for Frenchman, Paul Pogba and Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United this summer and he has revealed that the two attracted other Premier League clubs and were close to signing with a United rival.

“We had two offers from the Premier League and two outside,” the Super-Agent spoke to Daily Mail.

“Paul said United was in his heart, Woodward wanted him at United a year ago and Mourinho had wanted him at Chelsea too, so when the two combined we knew it was right.

“For the player, Real Madrid would have been easier, La Liga, Champions League, but he wanted the greater challenge.”

27-year-old, Mkhitaryan was linked with a move to the Emirates earlier this year, but completed his move to the Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

“Mkhitaryan was more complicated. We had almost agreed with another Premier League club but Dortmund wouldn’t let him go, then United pushed it over the line,” Raiola spoke.

Raiola further spoke highly of United’s business this summer after the club signed three of his clients, including veteran striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

New Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho recognized four key spots to make his squad more stronger and signed players in all four of these positions.

“I think Manchester United showed the world this summer that they were not going to stand still, they want to be the best,” Raiola further revealed.

“They sent out a message with the transfers they did that this is the biggest club in the world.

“I always say to my players we go where we are needed. United will always be one of the biggest clubs in the world whether by reputation or balance sheet.

“Yes, Manchester United had no Champions League and weren’t champions but they needed us the most.”
