According to reports Manchester United are ready to go “crazy” to bring Kalidou Koulibaly to the Old Trafford next summer.
The 27-year-old Senegal International is regarded as one of the most promising Center Back at the moment, his performances for Napoli has raised few eyebrows and has been a transfer gossip for the upcoming transfer market.
Napoli has told The Red Devils that Koulibaly will cost 120 million euros which, given neither we nor probably they know the identity of their next permanent manager, a deal of that magnitude may only be concluded in the summer. Manchester United are going through a transition period where they need players who can help them in the long run. Koulibaly certainly seems the ideal signing to fix a defensive problem position for United, with the Red Devils looking suspect at the back all season.
Pogba sent the Napoli defender a message of support last week after Koulibaly had been subject to racist chanting during his side’s defeat against Inter Milan on Boxing Day.
Koulibaly replied to the message on Monday afternoon, and sent supporters wild as he signed it off by saying “See you soon bro.”
This exchange of words between Pogba and Koulibaly has created a situation where United fans have believed that its a confirmation of him making a move to United soon. Spending big on Koulibaly seems likely to be the club’s best bet, following the example set by rivals Liverpool, who have improved immensely since splashing out on Virgil van Dijk last January.
This may be one of the best signings for United considering the fact that they need experienced players at the back. But Koulibaly has attracted interest from various clubs which may not be good news for the United fans. This will be decided in the upcoming transfer window whether United want him for not.
