Manchester United Boss Full of Praise for Cavani But Feels Frustrated at Times

Manchester United grab a huge victory at Craven Cottage with Edinson Cavani playing a crucial role with an equalising goal.

Manchester United have now matched their 17 games unbeaten record in the Premier League. One more victory would mean a new record for Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men. If they keep up their performances a title challenge will become a serious proposition.

United went down early as Lookman opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes. But the Red Devils showed character and stayed in the game. Edinson Cavani was the one to equalize the score for Manchester United. Solskjaer has brought in a lot of players but Cavani is the one whose impact has been felt the most. United just look like a different team when he is on the field.

Paul Pogba went on to score a stunning goal to give United the lead. The goal was very well timed for Pogba as he has been under a lot of criticism in the past few weeks. Manchester United will try to build on this momentum.

United lacked a proper number 9, someone who would go in there and make like difficult for any defender. Cavani’s arrival has successfully filled that gap and United look a lot more sharper.

Ole now faces a tough decision for each game as to who will play as a striker in the team. Rashford has proven out to be inefficient at the right-wing spot and he will be looking to reclaim his place on the left.

Cavani’s work rate is the often the highest in the team

One of the best things about Cavani’s game is his work rate. He gives his all to the team every time he is on the field. You can often spot him in the middle of the team flying in and making defensive tackles, putting pressure on the opposition.

As per reports from the Metro, Solskjaer said: ‘He’s the centre forward you want in the box. His movement is incredible and it’s something everyone can learn from.

‘It’s almost like I get frustrated at times when he goes wide to put crosses in because he’s the one you want in there. Sometimes I have to ask him to do less running.

Cavani also acts as a mentor to United’s young forwards. Martial and Rashford both have a long way to go in terms of their development for United. Cavani’s positioning is his biggest strength and Ole will hope that he can pass that on to Rashford and Martial.

United’s next game is against arch-rivals Liverpool in the 4th round of the FA Cup. It will be interesting to see how Ole lines up the squad. Rashford could come in place of either Greenwood or Martial. It would be highly surprising if Cavani is left out of the team.

This will be a key game for United as they have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup. It is pivotal for Ole’s campaign that United get their hands on a trophy this season.
