The English giant’s Manchester United are ready to make a final offer for Benoit Badiashile to replace Victor Lindelof. The Swede center-back didn’t have the best of games against Crystal Palace on an opening day. In the 3-1 defeat, Lindelof was in error in all of the goals that rested on United’s net.
He failed to draw out Jeffrey Schlupp, allowing Andros Townsend to score. Lindelof’s outstretched arm was the reason United conceded a penalty. For Palace’s last goal, he lost the physical battle with scorer Wilfred Zaha.
Lindelof’s below-par performance along with the team raised further question marks on their approach to the game. Manchester United has been sweating all transfer window period to make signings with only Donny Van De Beek secured. They quickly need to make things happen.
They want to add quality in the back four which have been by far their weakest point on the pitch. So, they are eyeing the last move for Badiashile from the French side, AS Monaco.
Badiashile being considered at Old Trafford

Badiashile has turned out to be the next big name coming out of the Ligue 1 talent list. The 6ft 4-inch center-half is just magnificent and deserves a level higher to continue his growth. He is just 19 so should be a bargain for any club.
Earlier, Manchester United made an offer for £22.5 million but was subsequently rejected by the principality club. Now L’Equipe understands that the Red Devils will put forward one final offer for shirt number 32.
The Red Devils are scouting him all summer but had to face significant obstacles to get this deal through. Monaco are too stubborn to let him go. He’s been backed by manager Nico Kovac to play a major role in the club.
Also, Badiashile won’t be a cemented name in the back. Solksjaer is still to make a decision on Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo’s future. Victor Lindelof is not getting replaced just yet with Eric Bailly regaining fitness in a crucial time.
United’s lackluster defense

Among other issues, United’s defense needed sorting out this summer. Harry Maguire’s transfer last summer did upgrade a few things but there are still things to work on. Desperation on Badiashile’s transfer is an example of that.
Added by failed transfer negotiation with possible transfer targets, Manchester United are utterly miserable. The club needs to make appropriate signings soon to steady the ship on high waves. But first, they need to remove deadwood from the squad.
If Manchester United are so desperate for Badiashile, they need to affirm their interest. The club has failed to make star signings in previous attempts. Haaland and now Sancho is turning out to be nothing than a rumor mill.
Gary Neville points out the same in his explanation to the Sky Sports. He said, “Until Manchester United get a centre-back who can run and defend one-on-ones they are never going to win the league. They have to get a mobile, dominant centre-half in alongside either Lindelof or Maguire.”
