Manchester United could now possibly sign the Serbian prospect

Manchester United can now invest in the 18-year-old forward from Serbia. The Red Devils are badly in need of a goal-scoring striker. After a poor start to the new season, United are ready to lash out in the closing weeks of the summer transfer window. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now requested his management to go for a forward as their main priority.

The problem for Ole lies in their frontline attack. The Red Devils strikers are not in good touch after their defeat against Crystal Palace. Ed Woodward has now held talks with Barcelona over the signing of Ousmane Dembele as per the latest reports. However, Barcelona doesn’t want to loan out their French winger. The Catalan club doesn’t want to repeat the mistake they did with Coutinho.

Non-EU player regulations

According to Serbian newspaper Rebulika

, Manchester United have already struck a deal to sign the 18-year-old forward Filip Stevanovic from Partizan Belgrade. However, the news broke out a month back the signing is still not yet done. The deal might possibly occur now with the regulations in their favor.

As per Article 19 of FIFA’s International Transfer Regulations, players under the age of 18 are not allowed to switch countries unless it’s between the clubs that come under the European Union. Unfortunately, Serbia is a Non-EU, and Manchester United cannot make the move for Filip. However, that might not be the case now.

The winger turns eighteen today on 25th September, which means that he’s now allowed to leave the Serbian club. The club could anytime soon announce his signature. Stevanovic is now considered as one of the bright prospects in Europe. He has attracted Red Devils while playing at Old Trafford during the Europa League game.

Right now, Manchester United are in need of attacking players. The youngster could be the one they’re looking for. With Mason Greenwood and Rashford in some fine touch against Luton Town on Wednesday. Both the players found the net and gearing up for the Premier League fixture. Filip Stevanovic can join the squad provides the depth in the attack Ole is lacking.

Can he turn out to be the game-changer at Old Trafford?

The Red Devils could possibly sign the young superstar from Serbian club Partizan Belgrade. However, it’s a question whether he’ll be moved to the U-23s squad or to the main squad or loaned back to Belgrade. The initial reports suggested that he might be sent back to Serbia to get game time. However, Ole is not in a position to loan out players.

United needs some star turner’s to their squad. Filip can be the one that United fans are waiting for. The youngster has shown good form recently and in a good touch of the ball as well. The Serbian featured for Belgrade a fortnight ago and scored a goal in a 3-0 victory. The forward is very sneaky inside the box and can easily win a penalty for his side.

The versatile winger can play on the right side of the pitch as well. He can only improve at a club like Manchester United with legends in your dressing room. The youngster has age on his side and it’ll for sure he a good investment considering his recent performances. Stevanovic has made 8 appearances already for Partizan Belgrade in the Super Liga Srbije.

While he has started all the games for his Serbian club in the ongoing Europa League qualifiers. The 18-year-old has also posted a picture of him playing in the Old Trafford at Instagram recently. This could possibly be a hint that he’s moving town. Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed his signing past month after his fan enquired about the rumor.
