Manchester United eyeing Liverpool target

Manchester United seem to be suspicious over David de Gea’s future at the club because of his constant demand and are ready to race with Liverpool for the Serie A sensation.

Liverpool has received the hope of signing Alisson Becker from Roma as their new target. The Reds are searching for a new goalkeeper with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet failing to convince. But they may face stiff competition from Manchester United as the Red Devils are also looking for a backup of David de Gea, who has constantly been rumored with a potential exit from Old Trafford.

Alisson has had an outstanding season for Roma in Serie A, helped the side to gain the third spot in the table and the 25-year-old is regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe. Liverpool seem to be keen on Alisson but the Reds’ bitter rivals United have been putting feelers out for the £70million-rated Brazilian.

Roma are thought to be ready to double Alisson’s wages, but his representative insists there is no such offer on the table. Ze Maria Neis told Tele Radio Stereo: “We still haven’t talked to Roma.”Alisson is settled though and he likes the club and the city.”

Alisson also admitted that he finds Liverpool’s interest ‘flattering’ but insisted that he is fully focused on the remainder of Roma’s season. ‘I don’t know what will happen [in the summer]. Obviously, the interest makes me happy,’ the Brazil international said. ‘But I don’t think it’s a question of needing (to move). I know what I’m worth, not money wise, but as a player.’

However, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, United are already asking around about Alisson as they search for David De Gea’s replacement at Old Trafford. Real Madrid are reported to be desperate to sign David de Gea, probably the best goalkeeper in the world at present. It’d be interesting to see how the future of these top class goalkeepers unfolds in this summer transfer.

Author’s Take :

Manchester United’s fear of losing David de Gea is quite evident from this move. He has been rumoured for an exit for a long time and it seems now, the time has come. Meanwhile, Liverpool is also looking for a good goalkeeper due to some below satisfactory performances from Karius and Mignolet. It would a good tussle between the Reds and the Red Devils.
