Manchester United fans ready for 1st signing as Ole finalizing deal

Manchester United has almost closed the transfer deal with Atletico Madrid. Ole is in the final stage of signing a player.

United have been on the lookout for Saul for quite some time now. It looks like this time they might finally complete the move for the Spanish International.

Todofichajes claims that Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Saul Niguez. There is still some negotiation going on regarding the transfer fee. Niguez agreed to a massive buyout clause of €150 million when he signed a 10-year contract extension in 2017.

Although his current market value is only €80 million. United seem to be in a position to sign the player for that value instead of the release clause value of €150 million.

Saul Niguez fits the profile to be a Red Devil. He is one of Spain’s brightest midfielders. He has proven his worth for the Rojiblancos for over a decade now. The Real Madrid academy graduate captained the Spanish U21 side to World Cup victory. He was also the top scorer of that tournament.

There is hardly anyone who matches up to his defensive ability. His game is like a hawk in defensive midfield. Breaking down moves and retaining the ball is his specialty. Ole could use someone like that in his squad.

The Red Devils can play their cards to land Niguez

According to Football Leaks discoveries, super-agent Jorge Mendes and former Manchester United chief executive, Peter Kenyon purchased 40% transfer rights of Niguez for €1.5 million when he was only 16 years old.

An old article by FourFourTwo explains how Man Utd can capitalize on the deal. “If Quality Football (the company owned by Jorge Mendes and Peter Kenyon) want the transfer but Saul – who signed a nine-year contract in July 2017 with a release clause of €150m – doesn’t, their 40% stake is returned to Atletico and the club must compensate them for the income they would have made from a deal”.

Now you think how do United come into play. Peter Kenyon has previously been United’s, Chief Executive. And the club is once again in the market looking for Saul. If they push the deal Kenyon can ask for his share of the bargain from Atletico this season itself. His 40% stake can be a driving force in this saga.

All major clubs across Europe are suffering through the Covid-19 financial crisis. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bring youth players making an instant impact on the team. Keeping that in mind would United be ready for a big-money signing still remains a doubt.

Although if it happens, Saul would sit right at the heart of Ole’s masterplan if Paul Pogba decides to leave Utd at the end of the window. And this wouldn’t be the first time United went looking for Saul.

The English giants were looking for a move in the 2018-19 season too. In fact, there were rumors that Saul was the primary target for United instead of Paul Pogba in midfield.
