Midfielder Juan Mata has been told that his time at Manchester United is all but over, as new boss Jose Mourinho is not considering him part of his future plans for the club. The Portuguese manager took charge at Old Trafford, after his predecessor Louis van Gaal was sacked. The Dutch main-man won just a single FA Cup title during his tenure at the club and the team’s overall performance was not up to the mark.

Despite that the former Chelsea star impressed once again and had earned a place in Van Gaal’s starting eleven, after moving to the Theater of Dreams.

However, there are some recent speculations coming in now that Merseyside outfit Everton are looking to sign the talented player for a fee of £20m this summer, as there is a deep interest from Goodison Park.

The Toffees are looking to add the 28 year old superstar to their current squad as confirmed by the Telegraph, with new manager Ronald Koeman taking charge of the club after the sacking of former boss Roberto Martinez.

Everton are already said to be in talks with the Spaniard and will look to get a deal done for their target in the upcoming days, after the club endured a poor season in which they ended at 11th place in the points table.

The club will obviously face some competition from the various other rivals, who will also be eager to ensure Mata’s signature on the dotted line, though what happens next remains to be seen.
